The staff within Bo-peeps Preschool encourage children to learn through play, by Burners theory of scaffolding. This encourages children to extend their own knowledge, by staff providing activities that include their interests and developmental stage.
Staff can provide this by having opportunities of adult-led activities for the children. This helps staff to create an overall assessment of the children, so that staff can then adapt the activities to further the children’s development. This also helps the children to learn new skills, to prepare them for their school life.
Within the Preschool room, the children have access to child toilet facilities, a quiet working area, a book corner, a messy / water area, a home corner, a maths area, a construction area, a creative area and an open play area. The resources within the room are used to assist the children through their early years journey.
