Outdoor play is vital for the health, growth and development of all the children. Children at Bo-Peeps get the opportunity to experience the freedom of being outside in the fresh air during the day. They are able to engage in energetic activities and experience a sense of wellbeing that being outside brings, especially through changing weather conditions which have different effects on the body. By gaining exercise outdoors the children can feel the sensation of fresh air and temperature changes which could not be experienced indoors.

All the children at Bo-Peeps have access to the outdoor space every day and are given the opportunity to visit the wooded area regularly. The children can learn about their environment and are able to experiment with natural resources, create a sense of wonder about the world around them and learn about looking after themselves and others. The outside play area consists of a home corner, writing area, bikes, ride on toys, natural area, sheltered area and lots of space to explore. Outside play is undertaken in all weather conditions and the forest area opposite the nursery is used for woodland walks and visits to the duck pond regularly. The nursery arranges trips to farms, Forest schools sessions, library visits etc.
